Polonia WA Inc. was formed in May 2018 and is the peak state body representing the interests of the Polish community in Western Australia. The organisation was established to provide a unified voice and a collaborative platform for Polish organisations operating across the state. Its membership base includes Polish clubs, Polish language schools, and a wide range of special-interest associations, including dance, theatre, and cultural groups.
The name Polonia WA reflects the merging of two countries and cultures. The term “Polonia” refers to Polish people living outside Poland — the global Polish diaspora — while “WA” represents Western Australia, the place our community proudly calls home. Together, the name symbolises cultural heritage, continuity, and local belonging.
Western Australia is home to a vibrant and active Polish community. Each month, a broad range of Polish language, cultural, educational, and social events are organised to serve diverse interests and age groups. Through cooperation with member organisations, Polonia WA Inc. supports these activities, strengthens community connections, and promotes Polish culture and heritage across the state. Community members and the wider public are encouraged to participate in upcoming activities and celebrations listed in the event calendar.
